A Message From the Chef

Welcome to Joseph’s Divine Hands Catering, LLC.!

I’m Chef Joseph Holmes Sr., and I’ve been passionate about food and hospitality from a very young age. Growing up in a household full of strong, inspiring women, including my late grandmother Piccolo Vaughn and my mother Ira Lee Holmes, I quickly found my place in the kitchen. From playing with pots and pans as a child to preparing soulful, African American dishes, I discovered my gift for cooking early on.

As a self-taught chef, I’ve always aimed to be versatile in a variety of culinary cuisines. Along the way, I had the incredible opportunity to learn under the guidance of renowned chefs like Chef Joel "Jojo" Thomas and Chef James "JR" Robinson. They took me under their wings, helping me refine my skills and allowing me to cook alongside them, even preparing meals for celebrities. Eventually, it was time for me to pursue my own path, and that's how my catering journey began.

Initially, I launched my business under the name Exquizite Catering, which later became Down Holmes Catering. However, after meeting my wife Stephanie, we felt a divine calling rooted in Genesis 12:2-3 that led us to rebuild and restructure our business according to God’s principles. Out of that spiritual shift, Joseph’s Divine Hands was born.

At Joseph’s Divine Hands, we operate with a foundation of faith and a commitment to culinary excellence. We cater to a wide range of events including weddings, church functions, business meetings, family reunions, baby showers, gender reveals, barbecues, and even offer personalized meal prep services. For a truly special experience, we also offer a Divine Personal Chef service known as the Kitchen Takeover — an immersive experience where ambiance and soulful food come together to create something unforgettable.

As it says in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." We stand on this promise as we bring God’s spirit into every meal we create.
